NYX Cosmetics is a brand that led me to fall in love with Makeup and their SMLC’s were my first ever international brand purchase .

So this post is going to be about reviewing, swatching ,a look that I created and all of that stuff using NYX Ultimate Eyeshadow Palette in Brights.

Now as the shade name goes it is very very Bright , I bought this a long time ago when I was in U.K while shopping online on Boots.com for 10 pounds and I’ve been using this alot since then. Most of my eyeshadow looks consist using one or the other shade from this palette.

I won’t blabber much about the packaging, as its sleek, handy and sturdy with a clear lid and the colors are perfectly visible.

Lets talk about the colors as this is all what this palette is about. This palette has 16 colors, out of which 9 are matte and 7 shimmery. The shimmery colors are not very shimmery, like not very reflective , basically matte with some hint of shimmers , if you know what I mean ehhh… 😉

This palette reminds me of the rainbow VIBGYOR colors with their different shades all in one.

It obviously has colors that are more saturated and some are less ,some darker and some lighter ,all in all ,wide range of colors in different hues that can be used to create dramatic colourful looks.

Generalizing the shades in colors, First row is more of reds, second is purplish, third is more blues and last is greens.

I have swatched the shade on a white sheet of paper rather than my arm to make it look more appealing and you can definitely see the look that I created .

As I mentioned , First Row has reddish tones having a shimmery red,a neonish pink, bright coral and a subtly saturated burnt orange which is more wearable even on its own.

Second row has a deep purple,a purply pink with a couple of shimmers in there, then a more wearable rosy pink and a lilac which is one of my favourites .

Next row we have cooler blues having reflective shimmery blue, matte warmer blue, then a shimmery sea blue and then a matte grey version blue as to how I am able to describe them.

Last row has a warmer shimmery green, then a metallic kind of green, a mustard yellow and a sunshine bright yellow.

As far as the feel, they are very light and powdery with a thin texture. Although the colors look nice in palette, not all of them are incredibly pigmented. One upside of having such texture is that they are nicely blend-able and do not have much fallouts. Here to be honest with you guys, the texture does look and feel somewhat in-expensive. And since the colors are not that pigmented I tried using a wet brush ,which for me was a fail as the colors do not stick too well on the wet side and I ended up ruining the colors . So the best thing if you want to use a single color on your entire lid, use your fingers. That’s what worked best for me.

Since I have darker eyelids it really is a task for me to make the colors which are not that pigmented , pop on the eyes.

I just wish the colors in here were more higher quality and more creamier than powdery.

I would recommend to buy this one if on sale for sure as its really an ultimate palette for beginners.

Be thrifty like me guys 😛 😛

I’ve used the burnt orange shade from the palette for the look below , on my entire lid and the bright yellow on the inner corner of my eye (which is hardly visible :P)

Have you beauties tried this one? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below or on my Instagram

Till next time,

XOXO
