Let me start by giving a brief about my hairs, they are thin and frizzy. I am getting my hairs shine straightened since past 3 years and color them when I feel the need to . So all in all they are chemically treated.
As you guys must be aware, shine straightening or any kind of straightening does damage the hairs and so is the case with my hairs. I have a lot of hair breakage and when the new hairs tend to grow they are all frizzy.
I am a fan of John Frieda’s hair care range , they tend to work pretty well with my hairs but unfortunately they are not available in India(Update: Now they are available on Amazon). Since I was running out of my John Frieda serum I thought of trying out the L’Oreal Extraordinary Serum.
L’Oreal claims this to be a multi-purpose serum containing 6 oils in one and World’s No.1 Hair Serum (That is seriously hypothetical and just a hyperbole)
The 6 flower extract oils it contains are Lotus, Tiare, Rosehip, Flax, Chamomile, Sunflower each having some amazing properties as I’d like to categorize below .
Chamomile : Helps in strengthening of roots add softness as well as shine to the hairs
Lotus : Helps to ward off frizz and drynesss
Tiare/Monoi : Helps to nourish the scalp and hair
Rosehip : Helps with itchiness , dryness as well as dandruff
Flax : Rich in Omega 3 fatty acids that helps in hair growth.
Sunflower: contains gamma alpha linolenic acid (GLA) which has been proven to aid with hair loss and baldness and also contains some Vitamin E which is essential for hair growth.
The packaging looks a lot like Kerastase Elixir Ultime to me,I haven’t used the Kerastase but this L’Oreal one has a luxurious glass packaging with gold accents which appears a lot fragile , so one has to be really careful in handling and while carrying it around. It has pump dispenser that is plastic .
The consistency is runny just like any normal serum and the texture is not at all sticky.
It has that sweet bubble gum kinda smell that I really like , its not at all overpowering and does not even linger around after application. But it gives you a feel that you are just out of salon after a wash and blow dry.
I like to use this one on my semi-dried hair after a hair wash and also if I tend to use any hot tools I.e my straightener or a curler. It tames my frizz to a certain extent , I’d like to say close to 60-70% and makes my hair manageable. It injects moisture and makes the damaged ends look healthy. The best part is it does not weigh my hair down and gives a soft shine to my hair.
Considering the price point which is INR 499 for 100ml I think its a nice product.
Have you tried this one ? What are your thoughts ?
Till next time,
Be MashaAllah
