As a devoted lipstick enthusiast, lip balms were never my go-to until I stumbled upon LanoLips. Influenced by Instagram, I gave it a try, and during the lockdown last year, my affinity for lip balms grew exponentially. However, my journey with lip care wasn’t always smooth, especially after a disappointing experience with Maybelline Baby Lips. Its overpowering scent and texture left me unsatisfied. Now, I’ve compiled a list of my least and most favorite lip balms to share with fellow lip care enthusiasts
Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula (Original)SPF 15 :
Without a doubt, this has become my ultimate favorite lip balm. Priced at INR 130/-, its sleek packaging features a convenient twist-up mechanism. I adore its clear formula that adds no color to the lips, giving a natural look. Upon application, it feels incredibly lightweight, non-greasy, and delightfully smooth. The subtle cocoa butter scent is just perfect – not overpowering at all. Its hydrating properties are truly remarkable. I’ve already finished mine and happily noticed it’s back in stock on Amazon. Needless to say, it’s already in my cart! 😉
LanoLips Multipurpose SuperBalm Ointment : During my trip to the UK, I splurged a whopping 10 pounds on this lip balm – around 1000 INR! It was a must-have for me, as LanoLips seemed to dominate every Instagram flatlay I scrolled through. This multipurpose balm is truly versatile, working wonders not just on lips but also on cracked heels, dry cuticles, and even insect bites! However, it does have a slightly sticky texture. While I adore its efficacy, I must admit that its unavailability in India means I have to explore other options once it runs out.
Nivea Men Lip Care SPF 15 :
While snapping pictures and filming a reel, it dawned on me – this product was actually intended for men! 😂 Nevertheless, gender aside, it doesn’t bother me. This lip balm doesn’t leave a shiny film, nor does it feel greasy. With an SPF of 15, it’s been effective in combating some dark patches on my lips. Although I wouldn’t describe it as very hydrating, considering its price of just INR 140, it’s certainly a good buy and has noticeably improved the smoothness of my lips
Laneige Lip Glowy Balm in Peach : It’s truly baffling why Laneige products come with such a hefty price tag! This one set me back INR 690/- for just 10g of product – a far cry from the generous amount in my LanoLips. I suspect the cost is mostly for that pastel packaging. Despite my reservations, I decided to give it a try, mainly because I wanted a lip balm with a subtle tint. I must admit, though, the peach scent is quite delightful – not overpowering at all and I love the slight tint the peach variant has. However, the texture and feel leave much to be desired. It’s a tad sticky, and my hair often ends up sticking to my lips on the fly and doesn’t stay long (approx~1 hour). Overall, this is a not so favorite for me, but I would also love to try their other variants.
So all in all this was my love – hate combined list of lipbalms.

Its impressive blend of ingredients provides effective hydration and sun protection, making it a staple in my skincare routine.
