Amidst this Pandemic that we all are in, I wanted to make a comeback on my blog after almost 3 years of being MIA and pen down our travel from last year to Fontainhas also known as “Goa’s Latin Quarter”.
Through my Pinterest scrolling, We came across this beautiful Instagrammable place and we landed to this unexplored side of GOA which although in Panjim but no less than any of the European streets.
Fontainhas is a residential area in Old Goa, which was ruled by the Portuguese some 450 years ago.

Nonetheless, Fontainhas has a plethora of colourful houses , the buildings painted in pastels and eye catching bright Villas , Art Galleries and some exquisite cafes.

Fortunately , We got to travel here twice during our 7 day stay in Goa. When I say twice is mostly because , the first time me and my husband went, we were totally drenched with the rains, Yes you got that right since this trip was in October’19, and it was crazy rainy . And I couldn’t not go to a place and not take photos to share it with my Social Media Fam(…So not me ;)) Hence we went there again when it was bright sunny on the last day of our Goa Trip. It took around 45 min from our North Goa AirBnB to reach Fontainhas , we took our rented scooty, started Google Maps and went to explore our way to Panjim.
You just need to take your time to explore the beauty of this place. On reaching Fontainhas, is this beautiful Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church right at the round about which I believe is a famous shoot location for many Bollywood movies , then we went on to explore the bright cafe’s, and houses. One most famous is this Blue House and I have seen it alot on Instagram(Swipe). And exactly next to this Blue house was a Wishing well and the Colourful Stairs.
Upon walking further down the street , we also found the Peacock Stairs.

Upon walking further we found Panjim Heritage and the Verandah Restaurant in a bright red with white paint which gave perfect contrast to the street.
The photos obviously do not do justice to the place , Whereas in person I was just awestruck. The contrast and the brightness each Art Gallery, Café, Hotel or House has is just mind-blowing. I could not find any color of the houses or cafe’s that get repeated in a street and the overhanging balconies gave them its own uniqueness.
As the day went down and the streets were lit , was the real magic. Those moments were just surreal. There is this boutique Label Zuka, near the Old Patto Bridge which caught my attention due to its lighting and I couldn’t not grab a shot of it and use it for my Fontainhas Pinterest pin LOL !!!(See for yourself ;))

And then we left for our return journey and on our way back had some lip smacking fried prawns and Goan Thali.
But Fontainhas has a piece of my heart and I will surely visit there again and might update this post with more Insta Worthy pictures featuring myself :D.
But for now here’s a treat for you guys with some more pictures
And now I will leave you guys to put Fontainhas in your Goa Travel itinerary and let me know what you liked the most if you happen to or have visited this colorful place. And thank me Later 😀
P.S : I am not into travel blogging, so excuse if I am not able to describe the place correctly.
Till we meet again in another blog post. Stay Safe.
XOXO
