Introducing actives/acids to Skincare routine has been a game changer for my skin. All thanks to my dermatologist. Acid’s obviously are confusing, but I’d give a little disclaimer here that I am in a no way a dermat or anything, but this is a product that I’ve used and my skin has loved.
About the Brand : Dot & Key is a brand launched in India that claims their products do not contain any toxic chemicals, are cruelty free, the active ingredients used in the products are in their most natural forms and 100% vegetarian.
Hyaluronic acid, also known as hyaluronan, is a clear substance that is naturally produced by our body.Its main function is to keep the tissues moist and lubricated. But as we age and exposure to UV ,pollutants , etc decrease the amount of HA in our skin. This is where external application of HA comes into play. When applied onto the surface of the skin HA acts as a humectant which draws moisture from the surrounding and helps in reducing wrinkles, hydrating the skin and making it appear plump.
Coming onto the review. Dot & Key’s HA Serum retails for INR 975, but is always on discount on Amazon. The packaging is super cute. The icy pastel blue colored bottle is what catches the attention and it comes with a dropper.
The texture of the serum is neither runny nor a gel. Upon application it looks like water and gets absorbed into the skin within no time, it does not feel sticky or tacky either.

Next thing I love about this serum is the fragrance which is a very soothing aqua-citrusy and floral . I know a lot of bloggers, reviewers say that serums/acids need not have fragrance or having fragrance in products is irritating. I do not completely agree with this saying , Since in my view if the product has a fragrance resulted out of its natural ingredients that is not too overpowering , does not bother my nose/skin and does what its supposed to be doing then I am totally fine with it.
To be honest with you guys, I am penning down this review after using the entire bottle and I was so much in love with this product that I have purchased my second one 😛
What I loved about the product is how hydrating, plump and even toned it made my skin. I am sometimes skeptical to use HA’s without using any moisturiser prior or after application, since it tends to draw most of the moisture my skin has ,which is already very less and make my skin drier and dehydrated.
But such is not the case with this serum. I can use this serum on its own and this will still make my Sahara deserted skin look plump and hydrated without the need of any moisturizer. Although I would recommend and even I top it off with a light weight moisturizer to seal/lock in all that goodness it gives 😛
After a long time I have been impressed with a product and Dot & Key team if you are reading this you have a loyal customer from now on <3.
Overall,I will definitely recommend this product for you guys to try on.
