Amika Phantom Dry Shampoo-Review

amika-phantom-dry-shampoo-review

This product was totally purchased due to Instagram influence. Every other pic I scrolled on Insta had Amika as one of its product in the flatlay. As we all know, influencers are sent PR products and then asked to post about it in that time slot. Hence , the result of so many images popping at the same time does damage our bank account.

I am glad I just brought a travel size to try out initially. I got it for 10 pounds. Really costly for a travel size bottle. My scalp tend to get oily and greasy 3-4 days after wash. Earlier I’ve used Batiste Dry Shampoos and I guess nothing can beat them.

This one is a foam based dry shampoo, The only reason I got the foam based version is because it does not leave any flakiness. It claims to be  Perfect for dry, chemically-treated, or curly hair types that want to bring volume to flat roots, deodorize, and refresh between washes without losing moisture.

The nozzle is pretty good , But I need to be really careful while dispensing the product as I tend to get more product out than I actually need. The texture when comes out of the nozzle is like a foam.

You need run the foam in between your palms and rub into your hairs.

I hate the smell of it, it smells like medicines, I so so wanted to love this product, But I am sorry this one has let me down. Dry shampoo’s are known to make your hairs feel like they have been just blow dried but it was a totally opposite scenario with this one. It made my hair more greasy and weighed them down and since I do not have much volume on my crown section, it made my hairs more flat.

And the most awful part was I experienced hairfall after using it, I definitely did not think this would happen and I was so sad I had such effects after using this one.

I’ve seen a lot of reviews on Influenster.com as well , on this one who faced similar issues like mine, So I am definitely not alone.

I really want to try Amika’s other products , but for me this particular product was a big NO,NO and I will obviously not recommend this to any one.

What are your thoughts on Amika as a brand ? Did you like any of their products ? Recommend your favorites.

Till next time,Be MashaAllah
