Alright, fellow lip enthusiasts, buckle up because I’ve got some real talk about Hyphen LipScreen. Hyphen is a skincare brand by Kriti Sanon, she is known in the bollywood industry for quite sometime now, but how are the products from her brand? As someone who’s all about lip care but also super picky about taste, I’m here to spill the tea (pun intended) on this SPF 30 lipscreen.
Sun Protection? Moisture? Check and Hmmm….
Let’s get to the basics: sun protection and hydration. Hyphen Lipscreen nails it in sun protection area. With SPF 30, it shields your lips from those UV rays, and the blend of avocado and pomegranate oil keeps them soft and moisturized. But where it fails is , keeping it moisturized for a long time. It needs to be re-applied every hour.
Texture
The texture is not too thick nor too runny. It has a clear not so liquid lip balm texture.
Dark Lips? Hmm, Maybe.
Now, onto the claim of lightening dark lips. I’ve been using this lipscreen religiously for a while now, hoping to see some improvement in my lip tone. And while I can’t say I’ve seen any dramatic changes, my lips do look a tad more even. So, I’ll give it a hesitant thumbs-up in this area.
The Taste Test: Deal Breaker Alert!
And now, let’s address the elephant in the room: the taste. Oh boy, this is where things took a nosedive for me. I’m not sure how to put it , but let’s just say it tastes… odd. Almost like a faint hint of glycerine that just won’t quit. And for someone like me who’s super-sensitive of taste and smell, it’s a major turn-off.
Final Thoughts: It’s a No-Go for Taste-Sensitive Folks
Here’s the bottom line: while Hyphen Lipscreen checks off most of the boxes for me in terms of sun protection and some where in hydration, the taste is a total deal-breaker, also I need to re-apply every hour and this what I can’t overlook , no matter how hard I try. So if you’re like me and taste and re-application is a make-or-break factor in your lip care routine, you might want to steer clear of this one.
But Hey,
Of course, taste is subjective, and what doesn’t work for me might be perfectly fine for someone else. So if you’re less sensitive to taste and prioritize sun protection and hydration above all else, Hyphen Lipscreen might still be worth a shot. Just be prepared for a flavor journey that might not be to everyone’s liking.
Till next time,
Be Masha Allah 💗
